Preem is the largest fuel company in Sweden, playing a crucial role in the country’s energy supply. They operate two major refineries on the west coast of Sweden, in Gothenburg and Lysekil, which are among the most modern in Europe.

The company is undergoing a significant transformation towards sustainability, aiming to become a climate-neutral refinery company by 2035. This involves phasing out fossil fuels in favor of renewables, investing heavily in the production of advanced biofuels like HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) and SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), and exploring technologies like carbon capture and storage (CCS). Preem is actively expanding its capacity for renewable fuel production and is a leading player in co-processing renewable feedstocks in Europe.
